About Cwm Nant-y-Groes
Held in January, Cwm Nant-y-Groes is a winter fell race covering 9 km with approximately 550 metres of ascent in the hills near Abertillery. The route is a navigation challenge that takes runners over open mountain terrain, with checkpoints to visit in sequence and a flagged anticlockwise loop around the higher ground. Runners are expected to have navigational skills and local knowledge is beneficial.
Full kit is mandatory and will be checked before the race starts. The event begins and finishes at the overflow car park of Bluebirds football ground in Sixbells, with the course based around Cwm Nant-y-Groes near Sixbells.
