About Dales Dazzler
The Dales Dazzler offers four trail running distances across the Yorkshire Dales, starting from Skipton on 14 August 2027. Participants can choose between 13 miles, 20 miles, 34 miles or the full 50 mile challenge, with elevation gains ranging from 1500 feet to 7600 feet respectively. The routes traverse high ground across Wharfedale, incorporating sections of the Pennine Way and Dales Way, passing landmarks including Malham Tarn, Kettlewell, Grassington and Barden Bridge.
Water and refreshments are available at each checkpoint, with vegan and gluten free options provided. The 50 mile distance qualifies for UTMB (Q100K), the 34 mile for Q50K, and both shorter distances for Q20K status. Runners on the ultramarathon distances receive a tracker; shorter distance entrants can hire one if needed. The 50 mile race permits a single drop bag to Malham Tarn checkpoint. All distances require competitors to carry mandatory kit, with the longest course also requiring a hard copy map. Finishers receive a medal and event T-shirt. Entry is limited to 200 participants, with a minimum age of 18.
