About Dales Traverse®
The Dales Traverse takes runners on a 55km trail route through some of England's most celebrated landscapes. Starting from Kirkby Stephen, the course follows Wainwright's coast to coast path, crossing the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and passing the Nine Standards before descending into the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The route winds through Swaledale and finishes below Richmond Castle.
Taking place on 4 April 2027, this ultra emphasises self-sufficiency and an adventurous approach to fell running. The event follows one of Britain's most established long-distance walking routes, making it an accessible and scenic ultra for those building experience towards longer challenges.
