About Dartmoor In A Day Ultra
Taking place on 5 September 2026, Dartmoor in a Day Ultra is a supported trail event crossing Dartmoor from Okehampton to Ivybridge Community College. Participants can choose between 30 km and 50 km distances across open moorland, passing landmarks including Bellever Tor, the Dartmoor Volcano and the East Dart valley, with refreshment checkpoints at Postbridge and Combestone Tor.
Mountain Leaders provide mobile marshal support, navigation assistance and first aid on remote sections. The route is mainly across wild, open moor and can be navigated using recommended OS maps or the Outdoor Active app with GPX files. Entry includes GPS tracker hire, and participants receive a finishers memento at the end with food and drink available. An optional coach shuttle to the start is offered, and under 18s can take part if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
