About Dartmoor Marathon
A full marathon distance of 26.2 miles awaits runners on the roads around Tavistock in April 2027. The Dartmoor Marathon starts and finishes in the West Devon town, taking in moorland routes through Dartmoor National Park. The course passes several notable landmarks including Princetown, Dartmoor Prison and Burrator Reservoir.
The route is characterised by challenging hills and rolling road sections as it winds through the national park's open landscapes. Runners will encounter demanding climbs throughout the marathon, with the course passing tors and reservoirs across some of the more remote sections of Dartmoor.
