About Dava Way 50K
A 50 km trail race across the Scottish Highlands, the Dava Way 50K takes runners from Grantown-on-Spey to Forres on 7 November 2026. The route largely follows the Dava Way and the old Highland Railway line, covering mostly traffic-free trail through woodland, moorland and farm tracks. Runners encounter the River Spey at Grantown, climb to Dava summit at 321 metres, then descend through pastoral landscapes toward Forres and sea level. Landmarks along the way include Anagach Woods, the Divie viaduct, Huntly's Cove and the Breathing Place at Dunphail.
The race operates an 8 hour cutoff and is limited to 300 runners. Competitors must be 18 or over and have experience with ultra distance running. Participants receive an official race handbook and full route details, including a GPX file for navigation, before the event.
