About Derwent Valley 10K
Taking place on 28 August 2027, the Derwent Valley 10K is a 10 km trail running event based at Blaydon Rugby Club in Swalwell, Newcastle upon Tyne. The route winds through woodland trails, open landscapes and riverside sections within the local valley, with the full course map to be confirmed ahead of the event.
The race welcomes canicross runners, with one well-controlled dog per participant allowed on a lead throughout. Participants must be confident covering 10 km with their dog and comfortable around other runners. Chip timing from Timing Up North records accurate race times, and every finisher receives a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and post-race snacks and a drink.
