About Devil's Chair Dash
The Stiperstones in Shropshire play host to one of the UK's longest-running Boxing Day fell races. The Devil's Chair Dash or Dawdle takes place on 26 December 2026 around the distinctive hilltop landscape, covering approximately 5 km of trail with an ascent of 244 metres. The partially marked route welcomes runners and walkers alike, with anyone over 12 able to take part, and organised teams can enter together.
This established event, among the largest participation races on Boxing Day across the UK, draws those seeking to combine festive sport with community fundraising. All proceeds benefit Severn Hospice. The course requires only limited fell-running experience, making it accessible to a broad range of abilities. Hot soup and sandwiches are provided after the event.
