About Dovedale Dash
At under five miles, the Dovedale Dash offers a compact cross country challenge across the Derbyshire Peak District. Taking place on 4 October 2026 around Thorpe near Ashbourne, the 4.7 mile trail race winds through the valleys of the rivers Dove and Manifold, taking in field paths, open ground and a crossing at the Stepping Stones. The start is set on Thorpe pastures at the foot of Thorpe Cloud.
Established in 1953, this locally organised event has built a strong reputation and typically draws large fields of runners. The race supports local charitable causes and the upkeep of Thorpe Village Hall. Shorter Mini Dash routes cater for younger runners, with categories for under 12s and under 8s. Free parking is available on Thorpe pastures, and all participants register on race day.
