About Dragon Slayer Ultra
The Dragon Slayer Ultra is a 35-mile trail event organised by Trimax Events, starting and finishing at Chepstow Castle on 29 August 2027. The route traverses two sides of the Wye Valley, following the Wye Valley Trail northbound through Wales to Monmouth, then returning via Offa's Dyke on the English bank. Runners encounter notable landmarks including Tintern Abbey, Giants Cave, The Kymen and Redbrook, alongside a 365-step climb and a distinctive 1 km section through Tiddenham Tunnel.
This is a serious trail ultramarathon requiring proper trail footwear. The course is accurately measured and based on established long-distance paths through the border country. Live music and refreshments await finishers at the Three Tuns Pub.
