About Dunoon Ultra Marathon & Relay
Taking place on 22 August 2026, the Dunoon Ultra Marathon heads out across 50 km of trail through Argyll and Bute, following the Loch Eck Loop. The route circles the east and west shores of Loch Eck, taking in forest tracks, rolling hills, long climbs and fast descents alongside short road sections. The course starts at Benmore Botanic Garden and finishes at Dunoon Pier.
Solo runners and relay teams both compete on the fully marked course, which includes marshalled checkpoints and drop bag access. The event, now in its tenth year, provides refreshments along the route and finishers receive a medal and race buff. A complimentary post-race massage is also available to competitors.
