About Ellesmere Port RC 5K
The Ellesmere Port RC 5K takes place on 12 August 2026 around the village of Capenhurst in Cheshire. This closed roads 5km race follows a flat, single-lap course on rural lanes and is chip-timed. The event starts at 7.15pm, with race headquarters and the warm-up area based at Capenhurst Sports Ground.
The race is run in memory of Ellesmere Port RC athlete Neil Lavery. Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in the open male and female categories, plus first place in veteran age groups, with an additional prize for a new course record. Water and ice cream are available at the finish.
