South Cornwall's dramatic coastline hosts this 44 mile ultra marathon along the South West Coast Path, running from Lizard Point to Lands End on 5 June 2027. The route traverses severe terrain of rock, mud and trail, with nearly 5,500 feet of cumulative climbing as it follows the rugged Atlantic shoreline. Variable coastal weather means participants should prepare for changeable conditions underfoot and overhead.
The Classic Quarter caters to different preferences through its entry options: solo runners tackle the full distance independently, while relay teams of two or four share the 44 mile route between them. Now in its 21st year since 2007, the event has drawn over ten thousand runners across its history and attracts a blend of competitive and sociable participants to its coastal challenge.
