About Endure the Moor
Endure the Moor is a backyard ultra taking place on the Town Moor in Newcastle upon Tyne on 31 October 2026. The format follows a fixed 4.167-mile trail loop that runners must complete each hour, on the hour. Participants who finish their lap and are ready to start the next within the hour continue racing; those who cannot make the hourly cut-off are eliminated. The event continues until only one runner remains, with no conventional finish line.
The same course repeats throughout the race, creating a test of sustained endurance and mental resilience as runners decide whether to attempt each successive lap. Checkpoints mark the 100-mile (24-hour) and 200-mile (48-hour) milestones. This is the first backyard ultra to be held on the Town Moor, a venue already known locally for parkrun, charity races and community events.
