About Epic Endurance Jurassic Coast Challenge
Running along England's most celebrated stretch of coastline, the Epic Endurance Jurassic Coast Challenge takes participants on a three-day trail running adventure across Dorset. The event follows the coastal footpath westward from near Charmouth, taking in beaches and tracks before circling Portland and finishing at Shell Bay near Studland. With roughly a marathon distance covered each day, it's a substantial undertaking across varied terrain.
Headquarters at Portland Masonic Hall serves as the hub throughout the event, offering free parking, catering, massage and medical support. Day 1 finishes here, while transport ferries participants to daily start points and back to HQ. Checkpoints roughly 10 kilometres apart stock energy bars, snacks, rolls and hot and cold drinks, with hot soup and bread waiting at each day's finish. A support minibus is available for those needing to retire from the course.
Runners and walkers start separately on Day 1. A mandatory kit policy applies: participants must carry navigation, waterproofs, warm layers in waterproof bags, hat, gloves, emergency food, torch with spare batteries, at least 400ml water, a high visibility item and a folding cup. The event provides a GPS tracker and bespoke finisher medal.
