About Essex Way Ultra
For experienced ultrarunners seeking a substantial endurance challenge, the Essex Way Ultra delivers an 82 mile point to point journey across Essex on 2 July 2027. The route follows the full length of the Essex Way National Trail from Epping Underground Station to Harwich's High Lighthouse, traversing ancient woodland, open countryside, picturesque villages and rolling farmland before reaching the North Sea coast. The terrain is predominantly trail-based, with approximately 3,469 feet of elevation gain and a 24 hour cut off.
The event is fully supported with checkpoints, drop bag facilities and a race medical team on hand throughout. GPS tracking and electronic timing are in place to monitor runners' progress across this classic point to point ultra running adventure.
