About Excalibur Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K
A 10 km trail race across the Clwydian Range, the Excalibur Trail Races take place on 9 May 2027 based at Moel Fenlli Car Park near Llanferres in Denbighshire. The course follows trails and footpaths through hilly terrain with some technical sections, crossing farmland and taking in Moel Famau and the surrounding landscape. Access is via the A494 between Mold and Ruthin, with race HQ signposted at the car park.
Runners must carry a full water bottle from the start and refill at checkpoints located along the route. Required kit includes waterproof jacket and trousers, hat, gloves, map (provided at registration), compass and whistle. Route signage, marshals and Mountain Rescue support are in place. A race number with chip timing is issued at registration, along with safety pins and a waterproof map. The finish includes catering and a non-medal memento with a sustainability focus.
