About Exmoor Perambulation
A 15 mile trail run through Exmoor National Park awaits on 26 June 2027, following the historic boundary of the Royal Forest of Exmoor. Based at Pinkery Farm near Simonsbath, the Exmoor Perambulation takes participants across remote moorland, open commons and ancient tracks—much of it normally inaccessible to the public. Rather than relying on waymarks, runners navigate using maps, GPX files and route descriptions, combining endurance with route-finding skills.
The event draws on a heritage stretching back more than 725 years, making it one of Britain's oldest endurance challenges. Staffed checkpoints support the self-navigated route as it winds through some of the wildest scenery in south west England. Both runners and walkers compete over the same terrain, united by the same demanding course and the unique connection to Exmoor's landscape and history.
