Runners keen to explore the North Cornish coast on foot will find three trail running options here, taking in routes between Newquay and Harlyn Bay on 12 December 2026. The Fairytale of Newquay caters to a range of abilities with distances of 8 miles, 15 miles and 30 miles, and welcomes canicross entries across all three.
Participants register at the Mermaid Inn in Newquay before heading out. The two longer routes start from either Porth Beach or Harlyn Bay and come equipped with GPS tracking, live route links and maps. Checkpoints along the way offer fluids and snacks, while mandatory kit for the longer distances includes a mobile phone, headtorch, spare clothing and other safety essentials. The 8-mile option requires less kit but runners must carry fluid and a charged phone. Timing is handled via ST App Service rather than chip timing.
