About Fat Boys Stanage Struggle
The dramatic crags of Stanage Edge form the backdrop for this 9.9km fell race based in Hathersage in the Peak District. Runners climb from the village towards the distinctive escarpment before descending back down, with 355 metres of ascent packed into the course. The route combines sustained climbing with rougher underfoot conditions and a faster descent from higher ground.
Classified as a Category B fell race, the Stanage Struggle offers an accessible entry point to fell racing while remaining physically demanding. The event runs under Fell Runners Association rules with a field limit of 350 runners.
