About Forth Ultra
The Forth Ultra traces a 44-mile circular route around the Firth of Forth estuary, starting and finishing at Helix Park in Falkirk on 24 April 2027. The waymarked course crosses two of the Forth's iconic bridges, weaving together the Fife Coastal Path and the John Muir Way whilst linking coastal and inland sections with roughly 1,739 feet of ascent and descent. The terrain is predominantly road with some trail running mixed in.
Participants can enter as solo runners, pairs or four-person relay teams. The route is split into four stages with three checkpoints supplying water and snacks, and the event operates an 11-hour time cut-off. Solo entries qualify for UTMB points, whilst all finishers receive a medal and race t-shirt. The course is chip timed throughout, with marshals, first aid and toilet facilities provided at stage changeovers.
