About Four Reservoirs Ultra Trail Run
The Four Reservoirs Ultra Trail Run takes runners through the Derwent Valley on Sunday 18 October 2026. Based in Shotley Bridge, County Durham, this trail event organised by Wild Deer Events features two distances: a 25 km option and a 53 km ultra. The route takes in several reservoirs including Waskerley, Smiddy Shaw and Hisehope, as well as the Derwent Walk, Waskerley Way, Derwent Gorge footpaths and Muggleswick Woods.
The 25 km race is open to runners aged 17 and over, while the 53 km is for those aged 21 and over. The longer distance must be completed within 9.5 hours of daylight, with mandatory kit including a backpack, mobile phone, food or gels, lightweight jacket and headtorch if finishing after 5pm. Both distances benefit from route maps and feed stations stocked with nutrition and snacks. Free car parking is available at Shotley Bridge Hospital and Surgery.
