About Fyfield Footpath 5K & 10K
Organised in support of the 1st Moreton and Fyfield Scout Group, this off-road running event takes place on 12 September 2027 across the Essex countryside. Runners can choose between a 5 km or 10 km distance, both following marked footpaths with full marshalling and no road crossings before finishing at Fyfield Village Hall.
The event welcomes team entries and canine runners alike. Those entering can opt for a souvenir wicking T-shirt or choose to sponsor a tree planting instead; the Scout Group has planted over 1,000 trees locally in recent years through this scheme. Both distances receive timed results and winners are recognised at the finish. Free parking is available, though spaces at the Village Hall are limited and most participants use nearby parking a short walk away. Cycle parking and accessible parking by prior arrangement are also offered. Food and drink will be available throughout the day, and runners are welcome to fundraise for a charity of their choice alongside taking part.
