About Galloping Grind 10k Trail Run
Plantation Road in Chelmsford plays host to the fifth edition of the Galloping Grind, a 10 km trail run returning for the 2027 season. Taking place on 4 April, the event follows the Spring course (the GG2 route) and is run predominantly anti-clockwise. Runners will receive a start list, maps and course narrative by email before the day, along with their race number, which must be worn unfolded on the front.
A tail jogger will sweep the course and manual timing may be used, so a visible race number at the finish is important for times to be recorded. After finishing, runners can exchange their race number at the horsebox for hot chocolate, hot tea and cakes. Results will be posted to the organiser's website within 48 hours.
Onsite parking is limited, so participants are encouraged to follow marshal instructions or consider car sharing and cycling to the venue. GPX and Strava routes are available from the organiser.
