About GB Ultras - Ultra Wales 50
GB Ultras organises the Ultra Wales 50, a 51 mile trail race through Southern Snowdonia on 19 June 2027. Starting from Coed-y-Brenin Visitor Centre near Ganllwyd, the route navigates around 2898 metres of ascent and passes Cadair Idris, Dolgellau, the Barmouth estuary and Coed-y-Brenin forest, with a 20 hour cut-off.
The course features six staffed checkpoints where participants must check in. Each checkpoint provides drinks and food including water, cola, tailwind, sandwiches, salted potatoes and fruit, with vegetarian and vegan options available. Medical support is present at every checkpoint. Runners must carry mandatory kit including a waterproof coat, map, compass, whistle, base layer, water capacity, charged mobile phone, survival blanket and primary and secondary lights, plus an event GPS tracker.
Entrants must be at least 20 years old and have previously completed an organised marathon distance race. No pacers or support runners are permitted, and drop bags are not available. The maximum field is 500 runners.
