About Ghost of the Miller's Boy Trail
Ghost of the Miller's Boy Trail takes runners and walkers on a 10 km night-time trail run around Thaxted on 28 October 2026, starting and finishing at The Maypole. The route uses footpaths, bridleways and tracks with some quieter road sections, largely off road and suited to those comfortable navigating in darkness.
This is a self-navigation event where participants receive a written route description on the day and must find their own way using a mobile phone and personal lighting. There are no route markings, marshals or GPX files provided. Walkers are welcome and encouraged to start at earlier times if preferred. All profits support the restoration of John Webb's Windmill.
