About Gibside Wild New Year Trail Runs
These New Year trail runs welcome runners of all abilities to explore Gibside's historic grounds near Gateshead. Choose between 5 or 10 mile routes through the 600-acre National Trust estate, where woodland, gardens and countryside provide the setting. The landscape includes a Neo-classical chapel, restored stable block and substantial ruin, with opportunities to spot deer and other wildlife along the way.
The event accommodates canicross runners, with one dog per participant allowed. Live chip timing captures results throughout the day, and all finishers receive a medal and Wild Deer merchandise along with refreshments. Free parking is available on site, though spectators will need a National Trust pass or to pay for ground entry.
