About Gladstone 9 Fell Race
The Gladstone 9 Fell Race takes place on 6 September 2026 near Dwygyfylchi in Conwy, based at The Gladstone pub in the foothills of the Carneddau. This 15 km trail race features approximately 2,800 feet of ascent across a course that takes in the summits of Tal y Fan and Moel Lus. Runners must visit five control points in sequence, with a cut-off of 1 hour 30 minutes at the second checkpoint before the main climb.
The race is limited to 100 competitors. Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day of the race, though experienced 16-year-olds may be considered on request. Mandatory safety kit and requirements follow Welsh Fell Runners Association guidelines. A non-waterproof race map and electronic timing are provided, along with post-race refreshments. Age-category prizes are awarded, with recognition also given to the first male and first female local finishers.
