About Glen Lyon Trail Race
Glen Lyon Trail Race takes runners on a 15.5 mile loop around Loch Lyon in remote Perthshire on 6 June 2027. The entirely off-road course climbs steeply shortly after the start before settling into an undulating route with around six river crossings—wet feet are guaranteed. Total elevation gain is approximately 1,500 ft, finishing back at Glen Lyon Dam.
The terrain demands confidence in running over 15 miles with elevation, and participants should be prepared for remote conditions. A water station sits at around the 8 mile mark. Runners must carry mandatory kit to be confirmed in the pre-race briefing, and camping is available at Glen Lyon Dam on the Saturday night. Walking poles, support runners and dogs are not permitted, and all participants must follow marshal and race medical instructions throughout.
