About Grasmere Gallop
Grasmere Showground in the heart of the Lake District hosts a running festival across the first weekend of June, bringing together two established events: the Grasmere Gallop Trail Races (established over 40 years ago) and OMM Lite Trail Quest (running for more than a decade). The festival celebrates off-road running with a choice of distances spanning 1 mile to 42 kilometres, plus a 24-hour option, across road and trail terrain.
Set in the picturesque village of Grasmere surrounded by Lake District fells, the weekend combines racing with a festival atmosphere and community focus. Routes take in the landscapes that inspired writers including William Wordsworth, Enid Blyton and Alfred Wainwright. The event welcomes trail runners, ultra runners, fell runners and orienteers of all abilities, with a family-friendly approach and inclusive environment throughout the weekend.
