About Grasmere Wild Trail Runs
Nestled in the Lake District, the Grasmere Wild Trail Runs take runners through some of the region's most distinctive landscapes. The 5 km route circles Grasmere Water on a shorter lap, while the 10 km extends the loop to take in both Grasmere and Rydal Water, passing Rydal Caves along the way. The 13.1 mile half marathon route offers the most expansive experience, winding through Grasmere Village, around both waters, past Rydal Caves and Loughrigg Fell to Ambleside Park before returning via Rydal Water.
Taking place on 20 March 2027, these trail runs cater to runners of all distances across terrain that showcases the fells and waterside paths the area is known for. The event welcomes canicross runners with one controlled dog per competitor permitted, provided dogs are kept on a short lead throughout. Finishers receive an event medal along with Wild Deer merchandise and refreshments.
