About Great Barrow Challenge
This ten-day trail running series at Abbotts Countrywide in West Suffolk suits runners looking for variety and consistency in equal measure. Taking place from 29 July 2027, the Great Barrow Challenge sees participants return to the same base camp each day to tackle different routes across the Suffolk countryside. Zig Zag Running offers four distances—5 km, 10 km, 13.1 miles and 26.2 miles—with half marathon and longer entrants following a fresh route daily, while shorter distance runners complete Mount Barrow each morning.
Race HQ remains at the start and lap point throughout, with a water and aid station on site. The event operates on a cupless basis, so runners should bring their own bottles or cups for refilling.
