About Great Herts AONB Event
Trail running and gravel cycling share the stage at this dual-discipline event through North Hertfordshire's protected countryside. On 6 June 2027, the Great Herts AONB offers a 10 km off-road route as part of a larger programme that includes half marathon and marathon distances. All three distances follow a point-to-point path through the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the 10 km forming a subset of the longer courses.
Runners and cyclists compete on the same routes but are timed and ranked separately. The terrain is multi-surface trail and gravel throughout, so appropriate footwear or tyres are essential. A coach transfer back to the start is provided for finishers at the end of the point-to-point route, which begins in the Gosmore area. Feed stations are positioned at roughly 8 km intervals.
