About Great Westmorland Trail Race
Set in the Cumbrian fells near Kirkby Stephen, the Great Westmorland Trail Race takes runners across rolling terrain and fell land on an 8.1-mile circuit starting and finishing at Crosby Garrett. The fully marked route climbs approximately 400m as it winds through trails and footpaths, with views across the Eden and Lune valleys guiding the way through the surrounding countryside.
Organised by Howgill Harriers, the event takes place on 12 September 2026 and welcomes both club members and unaffiliated runners. Junior races for age groups from U7 to U17 run ahead of the senior event, with registration based in the village.
