About Great Whernside Fell Race
Fell runners looking for a challenging upland race will find the Great Whernside Fell Race a rewarding test. Taking place in September in Kettlewell, North Yorkshire, the 6.5 km course climbs 475 metres through the Yorkshire Dales landscape. Starting from Scabbate Gate, the route demands both pace and navigation skill on its trail terrain.
Open to runners aged 16 and above, the race welcomes individual competitors and teams of three. Pre-entry and on-the-day registration are both available, with parking included at the venue. The course record stands at 28 minutes 38 seconds for men and 34 minutes 29 seconds for women.
