About Green Gateways
Punk Panther Green Gateways takes runners into the countryside around Otley on 2 January 2027 for a trail running challenge across North Leeds. Two distances are available: a half marathon and a full marathon, both following the established Green Gateways long distance walk route. The marathon route encompasses The Chevin, Yeadon Banks, Yeadon Tarn, Danefield Woods, The Billing and a section along the River Aire, while the half marathon covers a shorter section of the same landscape.
The event operates with checkpoint support, mandatory kit requirements and tracker systems. Marathon runners receive a tracker as standard, while half marathon participants can arrange one separately. Routes are taped and GPX files provided, though competitors should verify their navigation rather than rely solely on markings. All finishers receive a medal and event t-shirt. The event is limited to 200 entrants and has a minimum age of 18; registration takes place at The Bridge United Reform Church side entrance in Otley.
