About Grisedale Horseshoe Fell Race
Grisedale Horseshoe Fell Race takes place on 5 September 2026, offering a 16 km fell race with 1525 m of climb in the Lake District near Ullswater. This AM category event is open to runners aged 18 and over, with registration and compulsory kit checks held at Glenridding Village Hall. The race starts a 10 minute walk from King George V playing fields car park in Glenridding.
Runners must carry a map, compass, full waterproof body cover, hat, gloves and emergency food. Teams are welcome to enter. After finishing, participants receive soup and sandwiches. The event is permitted and insured through the Fell Runners Association, with entry by pre-entry only (capped at 200 runners).
