About Groovy Kinder Love
This 16 km trail race in the High Peak takes runners across largely unmarked ground on 5 September 2026, starting from the Scout Hut in Hayfield. The route climbs 675 metres over the Kinder plateau, omitting some of the tougher sections found on the longer Groovy course. Competitors must navigate independently and be prepared for moorland conditions with mandatory kit including waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, map and compass. A 100% kit check applies before the start, and entrants must be at least 18 years old.
This is a Category BM event organised under FRA permit with UK Athletics insurance. The race is limited to 200 runners, with both pre-entry and day-of-race entry available. Skills required include emergency procedures, local knowledge and navigation of unmarked terrain.
