About Hades Hill Fell Race
Hades Hill Fell Race has been raising funds for Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team since 1968. This evening fell race takes place on 3 September 2026 in Whitworth, Lancashire, starting from the Red Lion pub in The Square. The 5-mile trail route climbs steeply at the outset before levelling out across Brown Wardle, Middle Hill and Hades Hill, with 1181 feet of ascent over the course.
The race operates under FRA rules and requires runners to be aged 18 or over. Full mandatory kit must be carried, including waterproof body cover with taped seams and attached hood, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle, emergency food and head torch. There is a 24-minute cut-off at the summit of Brown Wardle. Teams of three are welcome, with the first three finishers counting towards male and female team results.
