About Halstead & Essex Marathon
Taking place on 9 May 2027, the Halstead & Essex Marathon is a 26.2-mile trail race based at Halstead Leisure Centre in North Essex. Organised by Halstead Road Runners, the event has been established since 1995 and forms part of the Essex Road Running Championships.
The course winds through scenic, low-traffic terrain across rolling hills, woods and farmland in the Halstead area. The race is open to runners born in Essex or resident there for at least nine months. Current course records stand at 2:28:08 for men and 2:53:22 for women.
