About Haytor Heller
The Haytor Heller crosses open Dartmoor moorland on a challenging 6-mile trail route. Runners start below Haytor Rock and tackle several steep ascents and descents, two short woodland sections, and a stream crossing before a downhill finish near the middle car park. The event, now in its 40th year, forms part of the 2026 Dartmoor Fell Series.
This off-road course includes a strict cut-off at Hound Tor (around 4 miles), which runners must reach within one hour. Drinks stations operate at Hound Tor and the finish. Race HQ is based at the Coach Park in the lower car park. Dogs and following cyclists are not permitted on the course, and headphones are prohibited for safety reasons.
