About Heart of Wales Line (HOWL
The Heart of Wales Line (HOWL) Trail Run takes place on 29 May 2027, starting from Central Garage in Llandrindod Wells, Powys. Runners can choose between three distances—16 miles, 24 miles, or 48 miles—all following sections of the Heart of Wales Line trail that winds between railway stations. The route passes through Shropshire, Powys, Carmarthenshire, Brecon Beacons National Park, and the City and County of Swansea, with way-marking provided by roundels, finger posts and signs displaying the viaduct logo. This is the inaugural running of the event as a race, with distances reflecting different lengths along the established long-distance trail.
