Taking place on 6 February 2027 at Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Horndean, Hampshire, this 50-mile single-loop race demands genuine winter and night running experience. Entrants must have completed a marathon within the required cutoff time in the last four years, ideally on trails.
The course covers 53 miles across predominantly trail terrain, following the Staunton and Monarchs Ways before joining the South Downs Way for the return leg. Runners will encounter approximately 6400 feet of climbing on a route that's fully marked for navigation and supported by six aid stations. As a UTMB Index race awarding 3 ITRA points, it also counts towards the South Downs Triple Crown series, making it a significant fixture for fell and trail runners seeking both sporting achievement and winter race experience.
