About Ilkley Moor Fell Race
The Ilkley Moor Fell Race has been organised by Ilkley Harriers since 1990. Taking place on Sunday 7 March 2027, this 8 km trail race climbs 401 metres over Ilkley Moor, with steep, slippery and rocky descents typical of the terrain. The senior course is classed as FRA category AS, with a one hour cut-off at the Rocky Valley marshal point approximately halfway through.
This is an experience-required race with partial marking; competitors must carry FRA minimum kit including a waterproof whole body cover with taped seams and integrated hood, hat, gloves and whistle. GPS watches and equivalent navigation devices are forbidden, and random kit checks will take place. Race headquarters are at Wells Road, Ilkley, approximately a 10 minute walk from Ilkley train and bus stations. Juniors also race on the day with no pre-entry required. The event runs under FRA rules and a no smoking policy applies throughout.
