About Ingleton Three Counties Fell Race

A 19.3 mile fell race crossing three counties, the Ingleton Three Counties takes runners on a challenging route that begins and ends in the village of Ingleton, North Yorkshire on 5 September 2026. The course traces a logical path around the watershed of two rivers, starting in Yorkshire before reaching the highest point in Lancashire and entering Cumbria, with technical terrain and significant elevation gain throughout.

Runners navigate rough open fell from Mealbank Hall toward Kingsdale, ascending to Gragareth and the ridge at Green Hill before crossing into Cumbria. The route includes a steep climb to the Whernside trigpoint, a descent to Ribblehead, and final sections across Park Fell and Ingleborough. This is a Fell Runners Association registered A-Long race restricted to those aged 18 and over with experience on arduous open fell. Mandatory kit includes waterproof jacket and trousers with taped seams, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle and food, all subject to inspection at registration. An overall time limit of 6 hours 30 minutes applies, with a specific cut-off at Ribblehead.
