About Irish BYU Championship
On 8 August 2026, runners descend on Florence Court House & Gardens in Fermanagh and Omagh for the Irish BYU Championship, a back-to-back looping format hosted by Hellevation Running. The 4.17 mile trail route winds through the paths and forests around the estate, starting flat before climbing gently through the trees to the halfway point and descending back to the finish.
The race structure is its defining feature: runners have one hour to complete each lap, with a fresh wave starting on the hour every hour. Those who fail to finish within the time limit are eliminated. The last runner standing—the sole competitor still able to complete laps as others fall away—is crowned Irish Champion 2026. Every finisher receives a medal and event t-shirt, with runners accumulating 100 miles across multiple looped laps earning entry to the Hellevation Running 100 mile club and a club hoodie.
