About Jurassic Coast 100
Trail runners seeking a substantial challenge along one of England's most celebrated coastlines will find plenty to test themselves across the Jurassic Extinction's five distances. Held on 5-6 June 2027, the event follows the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site from Poole to Exmouth along the South West Coast Path, offering 33 km, 50 km, 70 km, 100 km and 105-mile options over trail terrain. The 2027 edition marks the event's tenth anniversary.
The route uses official acorn waymarkers, with GPX files and OutdoorActive mapping provided; live GPS tracking is available for all distances. Participants should note that sections of the South West Coast Path can shift due to landslips and diversions, so following temporary diversion signs on the day is essential. GPS devices are recommended as backup navigation only. Checkpoints staffed by professionally qualified Climb South West safety personnel are positioned along the course, alongside mobile units and first aid cover. Runners may encounter unfenced cliff edges and livestock. Support crews can meet participants between checkpoints and are permitted to accompany overnight runners between 9pm and 7am, though indoor checkpoints are not open to crew access.
