About Jurassic Coast Ultra Run
Taking place on 4 September 2027, the Jurassic Coast Ultra Run is a 30-mile guided trail run starting and finishing in the Studland Bay and Swanage area of Dorset. The route traverses hilly terrain along a mix of inland and coastal paths, taking in sections of the Purbeck Way and the South West Coast Path whilst passing landmarks including Corfe Castle, Kimmeridge Bay, Chapman's Pool, Durlston Head Castle, Old Harry Rocks and the town of Swanage.
Rather than a competitive race, this event is run as a group led by an experienced ultra runner who guides participants through the route and offers support throughout. Runners should have completed at least 22 miles in training beforehand and be comfortable maintaining an average trail pace of around 10 minutes per mile for extended periods. Steeper sections are typically hiked, with the group regrouping at regular intervals.
Car parking is available at the start location near Studland Post Office. Participants will receive a detailed kit list and practical information before the event.
