About Jurassic Extinction / Jurassic Coast 100
The Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site forms the backdrop for this multi-distance coastal ultra, held along the South West Coast Path between Studland and Exmouth. Runners can choose from 33 km, 50 km, 70 km, 100 km or 105 miles on trail terrain, navigating the route with downloadable GPX files and live GPS tracking. Checkpoints are staffed with first aid cover, and a professional safety team operates mobile units along the course.
Participants should be prepared for unfenced cliff edges, temporary diversions and livestock in some fields. Some sections feature established reroutes, including a permanent detour near West Bay across the golf course. Support crews can meet runners between checkpoints, and pre-event transport to start locations is available by prior arrangement. The event takes place in early June.
