About Kendal to Preston Ultra 50
Running from the Lake District to Lancashire, this 50-mile trail ultra traverses a point-to-point route linking Kendal and Preston. The course follows scenic trails, canal towpaths, country lanes and smaller pathways, combining rural sections with some urban stretches and road crossings that may require runners to adjust their pace. The event takes place on 15 May 2027 with a maximum completion time of 13 hours.
The route is fully marked and competitors receive detailed route information and a GPX file ahead of the race. Seven checkpoints along the way provide water, cordial and supplementary snacks, whilst well stocked aid stations offer further support. Runners must complete a mandatory kit check on the day, which includes a waterproof coat with sealed seams, long sleeved base layer, water bottle or bladder (minimum one litre), fully charged mobile phone, foil blanket and whistle.
